"This draft is just so weird," Stefanski admitted. "There are a lot of players on the board we have to consider, but it seems the situation is constantly changing. Other than maybe six players, you can't say with certainty someone will be there or won't be there."

Stefanski reiterated the Nets' mantra since season's end: The team will take the "best player available." And that shouldn't be read as "best athlete available," otherwise they'd pick Hakim Warrick of Syracuse and call it a day. Warrick is athletically gifted but must be considered a halfcourt gamble.
